The hospital's busy open-heart surgical program gave Dr. Moore the opportunity to play an integral role in the continuum of care for his patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Today, he continues to refer patients, when necessary, to Holmes' top interventional and surgical cardiologists, and Dr. Moore works closely with his colleagues to provide collaborative cardiac care.

For patients requiring diagnostic testing and rhythm-related interventions, Dr. Moore delivers his own surgical expertise at Indian River Memorial Hospital. He has performed more than 5,200 invasive diagnostic vascular procedures. In addition to diagnostic heart catheterizations, he specializes in the implantation of permanent pacemakers. He also offers transesophageal echocardiography, a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technique.

Richard B. Moore, MD, FACC, is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine with highest honors (AOA honor society), and completed his internship and residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He served as a Chief Fellow during his senior year in specialty training at Loyola University in Chicago. In England, he obtained additional specialty training as an Honorary Cardiac Registrar. Dr. Moore and his wife, Charlotte, have three children, and they reside in Vero Beach.
