Preparation
A resting EKG does not require any preparation; however, women should wear shorts or slacks, rather
than a dress, because the test will require that you remove your shirt.
Test
An EKG is also called an ECG or electrocardiogram. During the test, small electrodes are placed on the
chest and arms. Lead wires from the electrodes connect to the machine. The machine records your
heart's electrical activity. Dr. Moore will then review the EKG to determine if you heart is beating
normally or irregularly.
